Have you ever seen a white bike chained to a fence or signpost on the side of a city street or back county road? Most likely it was a ghost bike. Ghost bikes serve as somber memorials for bicyclists who are killed while riding. Each bike is unique and situated in the place where the biker lost their life.
Litsa and I saw this memorial on the side of Ridge Road in Damascus, Maryland. According to waymarking.com this ghost bike and loving memorial is maintained in honor of Stan Miller who lost his life to a drunk driver around 7pm on a June night in 2010.
I can honestly say this humble memorial is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Do you have a memorial for your loved one? Have you ever taken a photograph of it? We’d love for you to share.
